Happy Halloween - Spooky Card Series 2022 #2

I am excited to continue the Spooky Card Series 2022 again this week. I have 15 Halloween cards to make for this year, so buckle up for a spooky good time around this blog.

I made a pair of identical cards with Taylored Expressions products and Copic markers. I started with the  Bubble Greetings - Halloween stamp. I used the Stitched Oval Stacklets to make the focal image. I added a set of pumpkins from the Spooktacular stamp set to the bottom right of the card and a bat from the Spooky Mail stamp set (retired) to the top. To complete the card, I used the Spiderweb Cling & Clear Combo on Lavender Glaze cardstock with Oreo ink.

Have a (hauntingly) good day.

Boo To You - Spooky Card Series 2022 #1

The stamp companies are releasing Halloween products, and this girl is happy about it!  That means it is spooky card season!  While I waited for my most current Taylored Expressions order to arrive, I wanted to start my Halloween card series with a Clean and Simple inspired card.

I started by coloring the Millie's Haunted Halloween stamp set with Copic markers and die cutting the images with the matching dies.  I stenciled three of the larger stencils from the Abstract Accents Stencil & Clear Combo in Eggplant, Candy Corn, and Lime Zest inks. I then used a stamp from the Abstract Accent Stencil & Clear Combo to add lines to background to hint at broom flying by. I finished off the card with a sentiment from the Mini Strips - Halloween stamp set.

Have a (hauntingly) good day.

Oh Baby

Oh baby!  I just love these Vintage Wood Toys dies by Taylored Expressions.  I knew that their simplicity would be so cute as the focal point of the cards, so wanted to add a bold background pattern.  The Taylored Expressions Chevies Background stamp (retired) was perfect.  I stamped it 3 times and colored it with 3 different color schemes that were mostly gender neutral since I don't have a specific baby in mind while making them.

I stamped the background 3 times and colored it with 3 color schemes that all included gray and yellow.  I wanted to keep the cards mostly gender neutral since I didn't have a specific baby in mind while making these.  To finish off the focal point for each card, I used the Stitched Frame Stacklets 2 dies and the Oh Baby Script die for the sentiment from Lemon Meringue and Oyster cardstock.

My first card to finish was this cute little dog cut from Dried Fig and Oyster cardstock.  My first thought was to cut the circle in the upper middle portion of the card front and have the dog glued on the inside.  It didn't seem quire right, so I added a vellum backing for the focal point.

I used the vellum on the next cards as well, but didn't cut the circle through the card front.  I preferred this look, and especially the placement of the focal point on the bottom right of the card front.  The elephant was cut from Spearmint and Oyster cardstock and popped up with pop dots to allow the vellum to blur the background a bit.

My final card was the same configuration as the elephant, but I glued the focal point directly to the card base.  With the vellum against the background, you can see the chevrons more clearly through it, but it still provides the whale a place to rest.  The whale is my favorite and cut from Blue Corn and Oyster cardstock.

With these 3 cards in my stash, I'm ready for some baby showers when they pop up.  But mostly, I'm always ready for baby snuggles!

Have a good day.
